It is the year 2007 and Charles McDonald has decided to take a Gap year. I am sailing from Cape Town to St. Helena, then to Ascension, then Fernando, then Fortaleza and ending up in Trinindad in the Caribbean. I will then go to the North section of the Caribbean and try and find work for about 6 months. And then to England in September.

Day 37 2nd February 2007 Friday Position @ 0900 S06°46.435 W018°58.076

We are going well, doing 120 mile days. We should arrive on Fernando in about 7 days now. It does get a bit boring on the boat with only two of us and I would suggest doing this trip with long standing mates. Have just been reading about the Caribbean and the British Virgin Islands seems to be the place to be! Want to be in Antigua for the week long sail though. We will see. Bacon sanies are good for lunch, and fresh tuna for supper isn’t bad either.
