Curaçao
It is the year 2007 and Charles McDonald has decided to take a Gap year. I am sailing from Cape Town to St. Helena, then to Ascension, then Fernando, then Fortaleza and ending up in Trinindad in the Caribbean. I will then go to the North section of the Caribbean and try and find work for about 6 months. And then to England in September.

Day 9 5th January 2007 Friday



They approached, and they left us behind.

We saw people today, for the first time in a week. It was a Catamaran on a delivery to somewhere in the States. I could smell the tobacco from the boat from about 500 meters. Not a pleasant experience. Gone cold turkey on the trip, strict no smoking rule on board. So I was rather upset by this smell.
