Day 16 12th January 2007 Friday

We finally crossed the line last night at 19:30! It was great to arrive at St. Helena. It marked the end of the first part of my trip and thus the end of two very hard weeks. Losing the rudder was difficult and tempers flared. Unfortunately as a crew we did not mesh and I did not fit in at all, which was a shame. Anyway, we arrived and then having cleared Customs we took a ferry to land where there were 40 of the yachties who had been in the race and a cigarette with a cold beer! How nice! We got one hell of a welcome and it was absolutely wonderful to have achieved what we had set out to do.

Went through mundane setting up things like passport control, picking up car, and settling into the cottage where we will stay for the next little while.
