About Me

CuraƧao
It is the year 2007 and Charles McDonald has decided to take a Gap year. I am sailing from Cape Town to St. Helena, then to Ascension, then Fernando, then Fortaleza and ending up in Trinindad in the Caribbean. I will then go to the North section of the Caribbean and try and find work for about 6 months. And then to England in September.

Day 20 16th January 2007 Tuesday

Today I did two stupid things. First off I decided to climb the famous ladder, Jocob's Ladder. 699 steps high and each step is about 19 cm higher than the one before that. What did I get out of it? Sore legs and a piece of paper that says I did it! Oh well. The second stupid thing is for me to know and you to find out.
Tonight we had a birthday bash at Anne's place, the main restaurant on the island in a rather beautiful garden. The food was excellent as one of the guys on the trip caught a Tuna that we all got to sample along with some really nice salads etc. It was a good night and lots of fun was had by all. Stuart, my second skipper got his Sax out and played some nice tunes and Zac, a member of the winning crew got pissed for the first time, courtesy of yours truly, sorry Zac's mum.

Gives me vertigo just looking at the photo of Jacob's Ladder.

Oh yeah - what was the second dumb thing? Did it involve lots of alcohol, and falling over?
