Said goodbye to all the people who were in the Governor’s Cup Yacht Race as they all left on the RMS St. Helena this morning. A bit sad saying goodbye to them all. It was great fun with the whole lot around, especially five or six of them who I got on with really well. So they have all buggered off now. At the moment I am sitting on Stuart’s Boat Allegro and we, Stuart and I are going to set sail for Ascension later today hopefully. Just trying to contact Cape Town Radio at the moment, we will be giving them our position everyday and that way if something goes wrong they’ll know where about we are! Having spent the last week in St. Helena I can say that I have utterly enjoyed myself and would strongly suggest a visit to the island, and if you come to the island you must do Jacob’s ladder!! It is well worth a visit. Big party last night meant that I only got on to the boat at 4 this morning. It was good fun though, especially the happy hour, two drinks for the price of one.

About Me
- Charles McDonald
- Curaçao
- It is the year 2007 and Charles McDonald has decided to take a Gap year. I am sailing from Cape Town to St. Helena, then to Ascension, then Fernando, then Fortaleza and ending up in Trinindad in the Caribbean. I will then go to the North section of the Caribbean and try and find work for about 6 months. And then to England in September.
