Used the dinghy to get to the island today, it is very rough so we get drenched motoring ashore. We went with the intention of phoning home just to let people know that we are alive. I stood in the main street of the only town on the island. The road is about 300m long and there is no one on it at all. The first person we saw was a woman in the only restaurant on the island; she didn’t sell phone-cards for the only payphone! She told us though that the Saints’ Club did, but wouldn’t be open for two hours. The dinghy ride from the yacht to shore is quite a ride and so we decided to kill our time on the island. Not much to do, or look at though. But I took some photos for all of ya benefit. A very small island really. Have just had supper, spaghetti bolognaise followed by ice cream and guavas, followed by a beer. Took a couple of sips of mine and then told Stu he could have it because I don’t really like beer. Scary! So instead I had a drop of whiskey and a cigarette.

About Me
- Charles McDonald
- Curaçao
- It is the year 2007 and Charles McDonald has decided to take a Gap year. I am sailing from Cape Town to St. Helena, then to Ascension, then Fernando, then Fortaleza and ending up in Trinindad in the Caribbean. I will then go to the North section of the Caribbean and try and find work for about 6 months. And then to England in September.
